Tharcyn cleared three Shadow Vault floors gaining 2 levels and 2 fame levels. His defense is slowly getting better, for he did not die at all for a second day. This play session ended up being uneventful, but more levels are always good.

Shadow Vault, Floor 18 (Orden Mines, Lv53)
This floor ended up being really short. Tharcyn gained a fame level after killing a Varkolyn Mage champion. I put the skill point in Adventurer. It is the main focus right now. The main reason I like Adventurer is the increase in potion effectiveness. Tharcyn’s health and mana were getting to be so high, the best potions still weren’t enough to heal more than 50%. This skill also has the bonus of increasing experience and fame gain. That might help Tharcyn keep up with the monster level increase on each level.
Shadow Vault, Floor 19 (Tu’Tara Caverns, Lv54)
Really early in this level I found a Phase Beast that took Tharcyn to the Secret Mines dungeon. That’s just another name for the Orden Mines theme. It was pretty short with only one champion and no good loot.
About half way through I came across a Tunnel Spider champion, which leveled Tharcyn up to 54. An enchantment shrine boosted Tharcyn’s axe to 1000 DPS, so his damage is still pretty good. I put all 5 attribute points in Defense, and this is how it will be for at least a few more levels. Adventurer got another skill point to increase it to 5.
The reward for the three quests on this floor ended up increasing Tharcyn’s fame enough for another fame level to 41. Adventurer went up to 6.
Shadow Vault, Floor 20 (Orden Mines, Lv55)
This floor was about medium size compared to floor 18, but it was enough for Tharcyn to gain another level. Late in the dungeon, a Dark Zealot champion that nearly killed Tharcyn was enough to push him over the edge to level 55.
Defense got another 5 attribute points and Adventurer was boosted to level 7. I think it’s going to take 3-5 more levels for Tharcyn to even out Damage Reduction with Melee Damage, so Defense will continue to be increased. I’m really enjoying the survivability Tharcyn has right now. That’s how it should be for a tank character.
Well, that’s it for today. It was pretty good overall except for the fact that Tharcyn didn’t get any meaningful item drops. Things are slower at these levels, but Tharcyn is not dying. I’m happy enough. There will be no character updates this weekend. I am gone from the house on vacation this weekend, so there will be no more character updates until Monday.
